Taguig City, Philippines – September 18, 2025 – ECCI took an active role in the Net Zero Carbon Alliance (NZCA) Conference 2025, held at SMX Aura, Taguig City, where over 150 participants from energy, property, manufacturing, finance, retail, and other industries came together to advance the country’s decarbonization journey.
With the theme “From Ambition to Action: Unlocking Opportunities in the Net Zero Transition,” the conference underscored how businesses can move beyond pledges and make tangible progress toward 2030 climate goals.
ECCI’s Regional Director, Karthik Subburaman, joined the breakout session [Commit & Measure] Getting Started with Net Zero: What’s a Credible First Step? alongside leaders from Calibr8 Systems and Azolla Climate, moderated by Container Living PH.
Addressing peers from across sectors, Subburaman stressed that the first steps in the net zero journey, though often the hardest, are critical:
“There will always be questions when you begin, but the first step matters most. Progress creates clarity. Net zero isn’t about perfection — it’s about setting realistic goals, measuring consistently, and building momentum one step at a time,” he said.
He emphasized that organizations should not be held back by the fear of not having complete answers or perfect systems. Instead, the act of starting — even with small, incremental actions — builds the data, insight, and credibility needed to sustain long-term progress.
Beyond the breakout session, ECCI also participated as an exhibitor, showcasing its 26-year track record in helping organizations design greenhouse gas inventories, conduct climate risk assessments, and develop sustainability roadmaps. ECCI also highlighted its commitment to building people capabilities through training and upskilling programs, reinforcing its belief that lasting change happens when both processes and people move together toward a climate-ready business ecosystem.
The NZCA Conference 2025, organized by the Net Zero Carbon Alliance in partnership with CDx, reaffirmed the private sector’s growing momentum to turn ambition into action. For ECCI, it was both a platform to share expertise and a reminder of the collaborative spirit needed to advance the Philippines’ low-carbon transition.
