Overview

Climate change poses major challenges to the region’s environmental stability, economic growth, and human development. With one of the highest climate vulnerability rankings in the World and a conditional emissions reduction target of 75% by 2030, the Philippines and its businesses face an uphill task when it comes to managing GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions. Proactive uptake of new global standards related to climate disclosure by the SEC in the Philippines will soon require all PLCs (Publicly Listed Companies) to report on their GHG emissions starting in 2024 publicly. Companies from regulated and resource-intensive industries are facing similar requirements from capital markets – investors and lenders alike to enhance asset security. Understanding and addressing carbon footprint at the organizational level is a MUST.

This 2.5-day hybrid course targets those tasked with managing GHG impact and enhancing sustainability. Built around the globally recognized ISO 14064-1 standard, a specification with guidance for the organization-level quantification and reporting of GHG emissions and removals, this intensive training workshop is a combination of principles and practices orientation as well as practical case studies and exercises based on real-life scenarios – meant for participants to gain essential knowledge and practice to facilitate the quantification and management of an organization’s carbon footprint and GHG emissions.
