Master of Disaster: Teaching Disaster Preparedness through Play

Developed by Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) — ECCI Group’s NGO arm, Master of Disaster (MOD) is an inclusive, informative, and fun-packed board game, developed in the Philippines, that aims to teach kids aged 9 years old and above about how to prepare and actively respond to the most common disasters in Southeast Asia.

Apart from instilling awareness and understanding of the importance of proper disaster response, the scoring system of the game also prompts the teaching of responsibility, teamwork, and the virtue of helping others.
Tested with 200 students and 75 teachers within and outside Metro Manila, MOD is proven to be an effective tool for disaster preparedness education in private, public, and special education schools.

Together, let’s build a culture of proactive disaster preparedness through the language children understand the most: Play!
