Special Projects

A relatively new group under the ECCI Organization, the Special Projects Group handles core activities concerning projects under the support of bilateral and multilateral funding agencies and organizations like – the Delegation of the European Commission to the Philippines; and International Weiterbildung and Entwicklung (InWEnt gGmbH). To date, the Special Projects has assisted in several trainings and project activities, the most noteworthy of which are -

(1) Social Standards Exchange of Experience in Southeast Asia and Practical Learning (SEAL) Project under the auspices of InWEnt gGmbH. This Project seeks to advocate for social management systems and corporate social responsibility to SMEs  through alignment/certification of SMEs to SA 8000.

(2) E-Taguig Project under the auspices of the Delegation of the European Commission to the Philippines through its Small Projects Facility (SPF). This Project consolidates the partnership between ASSIST and the Taguig Municipality to implement and sustain e-governance.

The Special Projects does the full range of project programming – from planning to implementation - and eventually, to evaluation. One of its strengths lies in coordinating and channeling efforts of several organizations into one concrete and doable program.

The Special Projects has also established good relations with several international and local organizations like Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industries (VCCI); Indonesian Export Training Center (IETC); TUV Rheinland Vietnam Co., Ltd.; German Development Cooperation (GTZ); Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (MACCI); European Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (ECCP); Central Luzon Quality and Productivity Movement (CLQPM); Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC); Peopleworks, Cebu;  Environmental Practitioners Association (EPA); and Asian Women in Cooperative Development Forum (AWCF).
